Milk Rice

Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 mug of basmati rice
  • Water
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 0.5 l of milk gradually added
  • 1.5 teaspoons sweetener
  • 10 g of bourbon vanilla xylitol
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder (or 2 tsp vanilla aroma)
  • 2 dl whipped cream

PREPARATION:

1.) Wash the mug of rice in a little water and if you find darker grains remove them.

2.) Pour into a saucepan and add as much water as it will cover the rice, a little salt into it, and then start cooking.

3.) When the water is boiling, add the milk in small portions, stirring constantly. You can then add the vanilla aroma or grits to give the rice its flavour.

4.) Cook for about 15-20 minutes at a slightly above-medium temperature, then taste the rice to see if it is soft enough.

5.) Stir occasionally during cooking to prevent the rice from coalescing.

6.) Once the rice has absorbed the milk, remove it from the heat, stir in the whipped cream, season with the sweeteners while still hot.

7.) Can be served hot and cold, with fruit, cocoa powder, cinnamon, jam.
