Onion Crispy

Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 large onions
  • 20 dkg cornflour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground chili
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 dl cold water
  • Oil for frying

PREPARATION:

1.) Peel the onion, cut it into medium cubes, then place it in lukewarm, salted water for about half an hour.

2.) Mix the cornmeal with the salt, baking soda, turmeric, and ground chili, then stir in the cold water little by little to make a thicker pancake dough.

3.) Drain the onions thoroughly and then add to the mass.

4.) Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan, then add tablespoons of the onion mass.

5.) Then lower the temperature and fry both sides until becoming nice red, crispy (fry over medium heat to simmer the onion).

6.) When the onion crispy fried to a nice red, take it out on a paper towel to absorb the excess fat.

7.) When served, offer it with natural yogurt or sour cream.
