Indian Red Lentil Soup

Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • 200 g of red lentils
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 medium onion (approx. 80-100 g)
  • 6 cloves garlic (about 20-25g)
  • 30 g ginger (about 5-6 cm)
  • 0.5 pieces of turmeric
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 teaspoon cumin
  • Chili
  • Salt
  • 1 l of water
  • 50 ml of coconut cream

PREPARATION:

1.) Chop the onion, crush the garlic, grate the ginger after peeling it with a small spoon.

2.) Heat the oil and fry the onion, garlic, and ginger on a high flame for a few minutes.

3.) Adding the spices, stirring constantly.

4.) Cook a mass of it with a little water in a few seconds.

5.) If the smell of spices fills the kitchen, stir in the lentils (no need to soak!) And then add the water.

6.) It boils in about 15 minutes but should be careful because the water absorbs very easily and more water should be added.

7.) When it is cooked, add the coconut cream and cook for 5 more minutes.

8.) Serve with chili or fresh coriander.
